The Leapfrog Group Now Accepting Applications for 2025 Bruce Bradley Fellowship

September 26, 2024

Washington, D.C. – The Leapfrog Group is accepting applications for the 2025 Bruce Bradley Fellowship, a yearlong education and training program under Leapfrog’s Judie Burrows Education Institute. Candidates for the fellowship are mid-career corporate-health professionals interested in steering employees and their families to safer hospitals and health systems. Applications for the 2025 fellowship class are open through November 15, 2024.

“Employers created Leapfrog nearly 25 years ago with the mission to improve the quality and safety of health care for employees and communities,” said Jill Berger, Senior Advisor at The Leapfrog Group. “By equipping fellows with the skills to effectively select high-quality hospitals and health systems, we’re turbocharging the movement that prioritizes the health and well-being of our workforce.”

The fellowship is named in honor of Bruce E. Bradley, a founder and first chair of The Leapfrog Group’s Board of Directors, and former Director of Health Care Strategy and Public Policy for General Motors Health Care.

Ideal candidates are experienced professionals who work actively with or for organizations that purchase health care benefits. Applicants can be representatives of coalitions working with benefits professionals for employers, or public purchasers, federal purchasers or individuals playing influential roles in health care purchasing. The fellowship is not designed for health care providers unless those providers also have responsibilities as an employer offering health care benefits.

“The Bruce Bradley Fellowship provided me with unique insights into health care quality and patient safety, empowering me to drive meaningful change within my community,” said Trinette Small, Vice President of Member Engagement & Strategic Partnerships, HealthCareTN, and 2024 Bruce Bradley Fellow. “Collaborating with my peers and accessing forward-thinking resources has strengthened my ability to better engage with employers, hospital leaders and other stakeholders committed to enhancing health care delivery.”

Selected fellows will be announced in December 2024. Fellows will receive a $3,000 stipend and travel expenses for in-person sessions. To complete the fellowship, fellows undertake a project in their community reflecting their learnings.

About The Leapfrog Group

Founded in 2000 by large employers and other purchasers, The Leapfrog Group is a national nonprofit organization driving a movement for giant leaps for patient safety. The flagship Leapfrog Hospital Survey and new Leapfrog Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Survey collect and transparently report hospital and ASC performance, empowering purchasers to find the highest-value care and giving consumers the lifesaving information they need to make informed decisions. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, Leapfrog's other main initiative, assigns letter grades to hospitals based on their record of patient safety, helping consumers protect themselves and their families from errors, injuries, accidents and infections. For more, follow us on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram and sign up for our newsletter.
