Double Your Impact: Help Prevent Medical Errors and Honor Those Affected

April 2, 2025

This year, as we celebrate The Leapfrog Group’s 25th anniversary, we also take time to reflect on the lives forever changed by medical errors. Every day, preventable mistakes in health care lead to devastating consequences for patients and their families. Behind every statistic is a person—a mother, a father, a child—whose story deserves to be heard.

That’s why we created the Judie Burrows Education Institute. Named in honor of one life lost too soon, the Judie Burrows Education Institute is dedicated to preventing medical errors through education, transparency and advocacy. It is our mission to ensure that no family has to experience the pain of preventable harm.

Your Support Can Make Twice the Difference

In recognition of Leapfrog’s 25 years of commitment to patient safety, our Board of Directors has generously pledged to match every dollar donated. That means your contribution will go twice as far in advancing patient safety education and supporting initiatives that drive real change.

With your support, we can:
✅ Educate patients and families about their safety in health care
✅ Equip health care professionals with the tools they need to prevent errors
✅ Advocate for stronger policies that put patient safety first

Why This Matters

For every story we hear about a life lost or forever changed due to a preventable error, there are countless others that go untold. This issue isn’t just about statistics—it’s about people. It’s personal.

We hear from families who have endured unimaginable loss, patients who struggle with lifelong complications and health care providers who work tirelessly to improve safety but are often met with systemic barriers. The Judie Burrows Education Institute stands as a beacon of hope, turning pain into purpose and tragedy into action.

Join Us in the Fight for Safer Health Care

Your donation—matched dollar for dollar—will help us build a health care system where patient safety isn’t optional, but the standard.

Together, we can honor the lives affected by medical errors and work toward a future where every patient receives safe, high-quality care.
