Dr. Milstein was one of the leading founders of The Leapfrog Group in 2000. Today he is Professor of Medicine and directs Stanford's Clinical Excellence Research Center. The Center designs and demonstrates scalable health care delivery innovations to lower the cost of clinically excellent care. Sherman Barber is a versatile corporate occupational health physician and human resources executive with 15 years of experience leading world class teams in large diverse multinational corporations. As Director of Health and Wellness and Chief Medical Officer at Lockheed Martin Corporation, Sherman Barber is responsible for the health and productivity strategic plan that creates a healthier work environment and positively influences health behaviors for 115,000 employees.
“I am honored to rejoin a Board that has created a powerful force for improving the value of health care to Americans and their health care sponsors,” said Milstein. “Leapfrog is especially well poised to extend its considerable accomplishments in patient safety to leaps affecting all domains of quality including the efficiency, effectiveness and timeliness of care.”
“I am delighted to join The Leapfrog Group board, a powerful voice for health care purchasers in the U.S. health care system,” said Sherman Barber. “As an advisor, mentor and collaborator, I’ve designed, implemented and executed strategies that have mitigated health related risks to corporations and their employees. I look forward to applying this experience to my work with The Leapfrog Group in an effort to propel the organization’s mission forward.”
