    Scoring Info

Leapfrog’s experts work with Medstat to develop a scoring algorithm for every safety and quality practice or ‘leap’ in the Leapfrog Quality and Safety Survey. This algorithm is applied to hospitals’ answers to individual questions in the survey which gives the results that are shown on our survey results web pages as circles. Hospitals scores are displayed ranging from an empty circle to a full circle. For more information on the scoring method for the Leapfrog Safe Practices Score, click here.

Below are some easy to understand explanations of how the scores for our High Risk Treatments are formulated.

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair
Aortic Valve Replacement
Bariatric Surgery
Coronary Artery Bypass
Esophagectomy
High Risk Deliveries & Neonatal ICUs
Pancreatic Resection
Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
